Beach Management Funding Assistance

This grant program provides funding for local governments to plan and implement beach and inlet management projects authorized by Section 161.101, Florida Statutes. Projects must be accessible to the public, designated by the Department as a critically eroded beach, and be consistent with the Department’s Strategic Beach Management Plan or Inlet Management Plan. This funding supports long term comprehensive beach management specifically for erosion control and protects upland structures and infrastructure, provides critical habitat for threatened or endangered species, provides recreational opportunities, and supports local economies through tourism.
