DOING MORE NOW FOR FLORIDA’S ENVIRONMENT
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection launched this online grant portal to provide eligible entities, including local governments, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit organizations that receive state financial assistance, the opportunity to submit proposals that will bolster existing efforts to protect and restore Florida’s water resources.
Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals for all grant programs they may be eligible for. Any information submitted to the department will become a public record, subject to disclosure in accordance with chapter 119, Florida statutes, and article 1, §24 of the Florida constitution. Please note that submittal of a project proposal does not create an agreement, nor does it guarantee funding.

WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT Grant Program
This grant addresses wastewater (including septic-to-sewer conversions), stormwater and agricultural nutrient sources in waterbodies that do not meet nutrient or nutrient-related standards. It supports projects in areas with established total maximum daily loads, basin management action plans, reasonable assurance plans, accepted alternative restoration plans or designated rural areas of opportunity.

INDIAN RIVER LAGOON WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM
This grant tackles water quality challenges in the Indian River Lagoon by funding wastewater improvements (including septic-to-sewer conversions), stormwater management and other projects that enhance water quality and support the Indian River Lagoon Protection Program.

Caloosahatchee Watershed Improvement Grant Program
This grant targets excess nutrients in the Caloosahatchee River and Estuary, which contribute to algal blooms, by supporting investments in wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.

BISCAYNE BAY WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT Program
This grant addresses water quality challenges in Biscayne Bay through wastewater improvements, including septic-to-sewer connections, stormwater management, and other projects aimed at improving water quality in the bay.

ALTERNATIVE WATER SUPPLY GRANT Program
This grant is available to local governments and nonstate entities to help communities plan for and implement water conservation, reuse, and other water supply and water resource development projects. Priority funding will be given to regional projects in the areas of greatest need and for projects that provide the greatest benefit.

Springs Restoration Grant Program
This grant is available to local governments and nonstate entities for land acquisition to protect springs and for capital projects that protect the quality and quantity of water that flows from springs. Eligible project types include agricultural best management practices, water conservation, hydrologic restoration, reuse, land acquisition, septic-to-sewer, wastewater treatment upgrades and stormwater treatment. Feasibility studies or other types of analysis and data collection are not eligible for this grant.

FLORIDA'S CORAL REEF RESTORATION AND RECOVERY INITIATIVE GRANT Program
This grant program provides funding for academic and private partnerships to implement Florida's Coral Reef Restoration and Recovery Initiative to establish, expand and maintain in-state propagation and grow-out facilities; develop and implement strategies and site-specific restoration plans including curriculum for a trained workforce; and reinforce and expand restoration efforts across Florida’s Coral Reef.

Florida Keys Area of Critical State Concern Grant Program
This grant is available to local governments located in the Florida Keys Area of Critical State Concern or the City of Key West Area of Critical State Concern. Eligible projects will improve water quality to protect and restore natural resources. Funds may be used for wastewater; protecting, restoring or enhancing nearshore water quality and fisheries, such as stormwater or canal restoration projects; eligible land acquisition, with increased priority given to the acquisitions that achieve a combination of conservation goals, including protecting Florida's water resources and natural groundwater recharge; and other projects that protect water resources in the Florida Keys.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR HARMFUL ALGAL BLOOMS GRANT Program
This grant is available to local governments and nonstate entities for projects that evaluate and implement innovative technologies and short-term solutions to combat harmful algal blooms and nutrient enrichment, restore and preserve Florida’s fresh waterbodies, and implement certain water quality treatment technologies.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT WATER SUPPLY PILOT GRANT PROGRAM
This grant is available to local governments for water supply infrastructure (including distribution and transmission facilities) in the Northwest Florida Regional Water Supply Planning Regions I or II. To be eligible, the project must be located within Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, or Walton County.

RESILIENT FLORIDA - PLANNING GRANTS
This grant supports counties and municipalities with resilience planning efforts, including further assessment of vulnerabilities of critical assets which helps to ensure coastal communities will recover and move forward faster after natural disasters. Water management districts are also eligible to receive funding through this program to assist the Florida Flood Hub for Applied Science and Innovation in addressing gaps in available data.

RESILIENT FLORIDA - IMPLEMENTATION GRANTS
This grant is available to counties, municipalities and certain special districts for infrastructure projects that address risks identified in a local government vulnerability assessment. Funding is also available for water management districts, drainage districts, erosion control districts, flood control districts and regional water supply authorities to mitigate the risks of flooding and storm surge to water supplies or water resources.
